I am not totally familiar with all English language expressions, and I came across a document to translate and makes reference to doing a 'quiz night'... Unfortunately I do not have any native English speakers around me at this moment to find out.
Can someone give me an idea/description of what a 'quiz night' is?
What is a 'quiz night'?
Quiz night is my second favourite time at the pub (public drinking place)--the number one is Charades.
Quiz nights are usually in favor of a charity. Each participant pays an entry fee and joins a team. The teams compete to get the most correct answers to questions and therefore win a prize and bragging rights.
In other words: a trivia game while drinking.
Hope I didn't use too many other words that will need translating.
What is a 'quiz night'?
If you gave us the sentance it would help a little but I think it is about a study night.
My friends and I used to sit around before a test and "quiz" (ask questions of) each other on what we thought was goin to be on the test.
What is a 'quiz night'?
An evening, usually at a pub or bar, where an organised quiz is taking place. Customers are asked to get into groups to answer a series of questions, the group with the highest number of correct answers wins the cash or free beer prize.
