I am taking a online class and I am having problems with the corresponding book. Each time I take a quiz there are questions and answers that are no where in my book!! My book matches the book in the syllabus, put i am barely getting by on my quizzes because of things that are not in my book or explained different. I emailed the teacher after the first quiz and told her about the problem and she just told me to do extra credit?!?! So i figured it was the first quiz so i took the second one and the same thing happened again. I dont know what to say in the second email since she just brushed me off in the frist and took her 3-4 days to respond back? I want to make office hours, but dont know why since, she is obviously not interested in talking about the problem. Im not sure what options i can take, because i doubt she wil let me take the quiz over. BUT WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?!? My grade is suffering, everyone else in my class is making a's and im barely getting c's on an open book test??
Problems with an online class?
You need to talk to the teacher ASAP! You can't let your grades suffer. She needs to know exactly what book you have (maybe you have a different edition, or there is a second book that you did not know about), and she needs to help you resolve this issue. This is part of her job. If she does not respond in a timely manner than you need to report her to the department head or dean. Do not delay. The more you procrastinate the less they will want to help you. It is your responsibility to go to the teacher when you have a problem and your responsibility to see that it is resolved. Best of luck, you sound like a good student. Don't get discouraged. It is all fixable.
